Strawberry spring production management points

Strawberry spring production management advice

In spring, the weather is getting warmer, the temperature rises, and the light increases, but the cold air activity is still very frequent from February to April, and there will be cloudy and snowy weather, or due to the sharp drop in temperature, there will be "late spring cold", and it is easy to form late frost, and there will be strong winds and strong winds. It is often accompanied by floating dust, blowing sand, and sandstorms.

Therefore, strawberry production in spring should pay close attention to temperature changes, reasonably control plant growth, and prevent low temperature and pest damage. Next, let Xiaoyuanzi take you to understand the key points of strawberry spring (February-April) production management for the reference of growers.

Good temperature management

As the temperature rises, strawberries enter a vigorous growth stage, and the daytime temperature in the shed is kept at 25°C-28°C, and the nighttime temperature is at 6°C-10°C. Under the premise of ensuring the temperature, increase the duration of light as much as possible. As the outside temperature rises, it can be adjusted by rising early and falling quilts late, opening early and closing air outlets late. At night, it can also be adjusted by not closing the air outlet, directly putting down the quilt or not putting down the quilt at night. Pay close attention to weather changes. In case of low temperature, adjust in time to keep warm and increase temperature.

Regulate plant growth

While strengthening temperature and humidity control, attention should be paid to adjusting the balance of plant growth and development. Remove old leaves, diseased leaves, and residual fruit stalks in time to ensure that strawberries are ventilated and light-transmitting. Strawberry fruit ripens faster, and ripe strawberries need to be picked in time. In order to prevent excessive vegetative growth of plants, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers can be used to regulate and reduce the application of nitrogen fertilizers.

Pay attention to water and fertilizer management

According to the growth stage and climate change, adjust the irrigation and fertilization strategy in time. As the weather warms up, the transpiration of strawberry leaves increases to meet the plant's demand for water. Fertilizers in the flowering and fruiting period are mainly high-potassium fertilizers. If the strawberry plants have more early results, the growth of the plants is weakened, and the leaves become smaller, you can properly supplement nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium balanced fertilizers to promote plant growth. You can also spray 0.3% phosphoric acid on the leaves at the same time. Potassium dihydrogen improves fruit set and berry quality. In order to promote the growth of strawberry root system, you can supplement root-promoting water-soluble fertilizers such as fulvic acid, or spray 24-epibrasinolide. At the same time, according to the change of fruit hardness, sugar content and leaf color, supplement medium and trace elements in an appropriate amount.

Prevent and control pests and diseases

After the temperature rises, the air humidity in the shed decreases, and small pests such as aphids, red spiders, and thrips are prone to occur. Therefore, it is necessary to check the plant conditions frequently, pay attention to observe the growth points (whether there are aphids), leaves (whether there are pricking and sucking insects on the leaf surface) Points) and flowers (whether the stamens are complete, whether the thrips can be seen by shaking the petals), if there are diseases and insect pests, it is necessary to control them as soon as possible to improve the control effect and reduce the input of pesticides. For Christmas red varieties, we should pay attention to the prevention and control of aphids in advance, and for Suizhu and pink jade varieties, we should prevent red spiders in advance.

Seedling management

For overwintering seedlings, check the moisture content of the soil or substrate frequently. If it is relatively dry, add water appropriately. Pay close attention to changes in soil (substrate) temperature. When the local temperature is stable at 2°C-5°C, the root system of strawberry seedlings will start to germinate and grow, and new leaves will germinate, so it is necessary to prepare for removing the film. For seedlings planted in spring, all preparations for seedlings, greenhouses, soil (substrate) and irrigation and fertilization equipment should be done before mid-March, so as to achieve planting on time and ensure the smooth start of strawberry seedling cultivation.
